Sara Strope – Founder

Sara founded the Organ Donor 4 Life campaign in 2010 in honor of her father’s 15th anniversary of his heart transplant.  Prior to starting the campaign, Sara served on the Patient and Family Advisory Council at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Heart Center.

Sara started her career as a microenterprise, healthcare, and housing lobbyist in Washington, DC. Sara honed her advocacy and fundraising skills while working with GetActive (merged with Convio), a software-as-a-service company providing CRM tools to nonprofits, and the United Jewish Communities. Sara has a range of client-focused expertise helping organizations successfully implement new initiatives and has worked in a variety of client management, online marketing, and lobbying roles. She has worked with national non-profits like the American Lung Association and the Audubon Society and corporations like Intel and Earth Fare. Sara continued to build her leadership expertise as an account director at Ogilvy Public Relations and the Director of Client Services at the Cleantech Group.

She holds a M.S.W. with a focus on Social and Economic Development and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
